University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

The University of Michigan Museum of Natural History is a great place to visit if you live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The museum’s exhibitions present cutting-edge research by U-M faculty and showcase global and local issues. The University of Michigan is proud to host the world’s largest planetarium, which is dedicated to providing educational experiences for the community.

The U-M Museum of Natural History is part of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. It opened April 14, 2019, in the Biological Sciences Building. The building’s design resembles a butterfly and blurs the distinction between public and research spaces. The museum features exhibits that showcase the world’s best natural science collections, U-M faculty research, and interdisciplinary topics of global and local importance.

The new planetarium at the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History Ann Arbor has a new manager, Jeffrey “Buddy” Stark. Former planetarium manager Matthew Linke is now retired. Jeffery “Buddy” Stark joined the museum in August 2014 and started as a student operator at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. After working at the Longway Planetarium in flint, he is currently pursuing his PhD at Western Michigan University. He also has a Master’s degree in Science Education. He was also named a Fellow of the Great Lakes Planetarium Association in 2019.

The U-M Museum of Natural History has a number of exhibits focusing on the world’s natural sciences. The Hall of Evolution exhibit includes an array of prehistoric and fossil specimens from the area. The Michigan Wildlife Gallery features a variety of species native to the Great Lakes, including many of their taxidermy specimens. Several of the displays are interdisciplinary and highlight the latest research.

The museum has a variety of special exhibits. The Hall of Evolution houses exhibits on evolution and prehistoric life. It also has a large collection of fossils. The University of Michigan Museum of Natural History is located in downtown Ann Arbor. It is open to the public on weekends and holidays. A new building on campus was completed in April 2019. Its main focus is science education. Its interdisciplinary collections are of great importance to the world.
